Navy - 4R teams assist flood victims in Northern Area
 

The northern part of the island receives heavy rains since 23^rd December. In this backdrop, Sri Lanka Navy commenced relief operations for the victims affected by the adverse weather in Kilinochchi and Mulativu districts. Accordingly, relief teams have been deployed in many areas including Iranamadu, Thondamanaru, Mankulam and Kottaadi as of now.

As such, several 4R ( Rapid Response Rescue & Relief ) teams have been dispatched to the Kilinochchi and Mulativu districts  by the Disaster Response Unit of the  Sri Lanka Navy and Tamil community displaced in above locations are being provided food, sanitary and essential facilities.

The 4R teams are still kept on standby in a bid to render their unconditional assistance to displaced community, as a result of the extreme weather condition.
