Naval personnel rescue a girl drowning in Panama lagoon

 

Naval personnel attached to the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) in the Southeastern Naval Command rescued a little girl who was drowning near the lagoon mouth in Panama yesterday (02nd March).

 

A group of local tourists form Kurunegala area was bathing near the lagoon mouth of Panama and after a while got to know that a little girl in the crowd was drowning in water. Having noticed the people screaming for help with panic, Leading Seaman KAAK Kumara and Leading Seaman HPAN Kumara who were on lifesaving duties rushed to the location and rescued the girl from the watery grave after a much effort. She was subsequently handed over to the parents.
