SRI LANKA HEADING TOWARDS INSARAG LEVEL SAR

In circumstances where the Disaster Management Center (DMC) is heading towards the establishment of International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) level Search and Rescue teams in Sri Lanka, the first batch conducted 5- day training at Fire Brigade Training Centre Colombo, Rapid Action Boat Squadron Training School - Gangewadiya and Disaster Management Training School (DMTS) – Gampola from 6^th September to 11^th September 2020. The first batch includes personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Fire Brigade. The certificate awarding ceremony was held at DMTS on 11^th September 2020, with the attendance of Maj. Gen (Rtd) Sudantha Ranasingha, the Director General DMC. International representatives joined through Zoom technology.
