International Lifesaving (ILS) Bronze Medallion Course for Naval Personnel

Sri Lanka Navy Disaster Management Training School (DMTS) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Lifesaving successfully conducted the International Lifesaving (ILS) Bronze Medallion course for 19 no’s of naval personnel from 15^th July to 04^th August 2024 at SLNS Gemunu swimming pool and Mount Lavinia beach area in terms of achieving international standards for ILS Surf Lifeguard Certification and ILS Pool Lifeguard Certification.

The aim of this is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the naval personnel in the field of lifesaving and rescue as a professional pool and surf lifeguard whilst giving them the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized lifesaving grading. During the training, trainees were closely monitored on their performances. They gained knowledge and experience in situation analysis and handling during emergency situations at swimming pools and surf environments.
