Naval personnel attached to the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) in the Southeastern Naval Command rescued a little girl who was drowning near the lagoon mouth in Panama yesterday (02nd March).

The water filling of Yan Oya reservoir commenced from 10th to 20th December 2018 leaving the wildlife in the area in desperate situation with the inundating reservoir.
Following heavy rains, the village of Kebulpatiyawa in the Gomarankadawala Divisional Secretariat faced a flood threat as a result of the rising water level of the Yan Oya by 23rd December.
